Cara Wilson, a health care practitioner that just recently relocated from Saskatchewan this winter. She ran a successful business in Saskatoon called Cara.lot Acupuncture and massage for close to a decade, which she has since passed it on to a work colleague this summer.
She is a currently registered in Saskatchewan for Massage therapy, Neurofunctional Acupuncture, and Cosmetic Acupuncture. She also is a qualified Sports Therapist and Registered Certified Personal Trainer through the gold standard in Canada for fitness with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology.
She has over 13 years experience in Saskatchewan Registered Massage Therapy and almost 10 in Neurofunctional Acupuncture. With Cara’s past as a competitive national level figure skater for 15 years and a 4 time amateur competitive bikini bodybuilder, she has come to Nelson to enjoy the many activities it has to bring especially skiing.

Before Cara came to Nelson she graduated from Saskatoon at the professional institute of massage therapy with a 2 year diploma and an extra 1 year add on sports therapy and training diploma.
Cara also graduated from McMaster University completing the Neurofunctional Medical acupuncture program through the department on anesthesia through the College of Medicine. Her fellow students were physicians, naturopathic Dr’s, chiropractors and physiotherapists.

Her love for skin care also lead to her to complete a collagen induction therapy microneedling course through the gold standard in the industry Dermaroller. She is the only clinician in the Kooteney area to practice with the eDermastamp system. Cara also completed a Cosmetic Acupuncture program in Toronto under the supervision from the world renowned Shali Rassouli as featured in the television show “Skin Deep”.
Cara has worked with world class athletes from the NHL, CFL, and WHL. She has also worked with many competitive athletes including international marathon runners, golfers, triathletes, gymnasts and track athletes.
She has been mentored by the world famous Dr. Anthony Lombardi from Hamilton Ontario, the inventor of Extore. Dr. Lombardi was voted one of the top 5 chiropractors in Canada. Because of Dr. Lombardi’s influence Cara is always up to date on the latest evidence based research from medical studies.
Cara brings a very unique process to her treatments. All of her treatments are not just basic a Massage but have many more modalities in each treatment. Cara is tailoring her treatments for the activities in the region including a special this winter called the après ski package. She also has many massage packages to meet your specific needs if that means relaxation or a lunchtime facial treatment.
She also has packages based on Eastern medicine from her Thai training and acupuncture and a more Western based package suited on an evidence based approach. She also has a special hot stone package, detox packages and much more.
Cara has been doing Cosmetic Acupuncture since 2011 and offers many add on facial treatments if requested with your massage therapy package.
In all of Cara’s packages she complimentary includes Infrared Heat Therapy, Hot Towels, Heated Table and great ambient chill music.
Cara is one of the only practitioners in Canada to hold all of her designations and complete the many continuing education courses she has graduated from. She is always educating above and beyond the minimum continuing education requirements.
Cara’s work is never done as medicine constantly evolves. She is kept up to date on the latest techniques whether it is evidence based or the latest trend. She is very excited to bring her unique twist on treatments from the many mentors and educators she has encountered, she tailors these treatments for her clients.
